1.3 Where to store your files

If you plan to use your laptop every day in class and outside of class, you can store your work for this class on your hard drive in a location that works for you.

We will have access to R/RStudio in the lab, so it makes sense to make your files accessible while working on a lab computer. You can do this in two ways.

  1. You can store files on your OneDrive account. That will make them available on your computer, in the lab, and elsewhere if needed. This is a good plan overall, and creates an excellent backup. You will need to download OneDrive and set it up on your computer. Point files there. And set this as your working directory.
  2. You keep your files on a USB drive. This is easy, but it does mean you have to have your USB drive available all the time and you will use it for your files while using your own computer as well.

I strongly recommend housing your files in OneDrive.
