1.4 Create an RStudio project

It is a best practice to keep all of the files you need for your research project in one place. RStudio will help you do this by creating a project that creates a directory for your files. To create a new project in RStudio:

1. Click the “File” menu, then select “New Project…”.
2. Click on “New Directory”.
3. Click on “New Project”.
4. Type in the name of the project directory, for example, “pols_200_project”.
5. Browse to put the folder/directly where you want it. (Documents in OneDrive is a good place.)
6. Check the Open in New Session box.
7. Click the “Create Project” button.
