2.4 Save your dataset

You can reload your dataset every time you use it, but it is simpler to save the dataset and load that file. Use the save command.

save(name_in_workspace, file = "Ethiopia.RData")

Using the Ethiopia file as an example:

save(Ethiopia, file = "Ethiopia.RData")

Specify a file name. Again, you can name the file what you want, but make sure to use the correct file extension, .RData. If you have Gapminder data, you already have a dataset saved in .Rdata format.

As you make changes in your dataset during the semester, you will want to save your updated file. Give each version a new name so that you can go back to your previous work. Also: save your scripts so you can reproduce your work!
